critical media studies is how things from the media effect our daily life. media is anything we can gather information from, like the TV, internet, magazines, billboards, literature, etc. media literacy is being aware to the media and being able to understand the media and the meaning behind it. media literacy is so important to our lives today because media is around us all the time, and we have to be able to see it for what it is, and not just for what the advertisers want us to see.
